Returning Son Andy Geggan struck a dramatic late leveller against Airdrieonians – and then revealed he was gutted at not getting all three points.
The veteran midfielder, 34, stepped off the bench to draw Stevie Farrell’s side level with his first Dumbarton goal in over a decade, but admitted the mood in the changing room was one of disappointment – despite the Sons being 2-0 down with 11 minutes remaining.
He said: “I’m still disappointed at the way we lost two goals.
“It’s obviously good to get a point when you’re two down, but in myself I’m disappointed with the result.
“I’ll not show that to the boys, but obviously I wanted to win. I could see the comeback coming even when we were two down with 10 minutes to go.
“I think we had a few more chances to finish the game off.
“It was brilliant hearing the roar from the home end when the ball hit the net though. It took me back a few years.
“I can’t remember the last time I heard that. It was nice to do it for the fans now they are back in.
“I just love scoring here.”

Geggan’s disappointment was echoed by manager Stevie Farrell.
He said: “The feeling in the dressing room is frustration that we didn’t win the game.
“We’ve had a few good chances before we score, and a few where we took the wrong decision.
“When you’re playing against 10 men and chasing a 2-0 deficit we felt we needed to change the shape and go through the wide areas. That was one of the reasons we brought Andy on – I certainly didn’t bring him on to score the equaliser.
“You can see with the reaction of the players and the fans that there’s a real togetherness at the club just now. Long may that continue.”

Geggan’s first goal at the Rock since netting for the Sons against Alloa Athletic in April 2011 maintained their unbeaten start to the new league season, with the former Ayr United man in an upbeat mood ahead of this Saturday’s clash with title-chasing Queen’s
Park.
He continued: “We’ll be confident going to Firhill.
“I know Queen’s Park are full-time, but if we set up properly and with the team that we’ve got I don’t see anybody really bothering
us.
“Nobody having six points after two games shows the way the league is going to go.”
