Gaza amputees recreate World Cup final in damaged stadium

Gazan amputee football players who lost limbs during the war recreated the FIFA World Cup final in a damaged stadium in Gaza City on Saturday.

The video shows players wearing Argentina and Spain shirts warming up, standing alongside referees and a replica trophy before taking part in a symbolic match at Palestine Stadium in the Tel al-Hawa neighbourhood.

The game brought together athletes who used football to create a moment of competition and connection despite the destruction around them. The players recreated the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina, with the Spain side winning 3-1.

The event was organised under the message 'Goal for Gaza', with organisers using football to highlight the experiences of amputee athletes and their determination to continue playing the sport they love.
