Gavin Henson looks unrecognisable as pub owner after quitting rugby and reality TV

Gavin Henson looked strikingly different after he left the spotlight behind.

Die hard rugby fans may do a double take if they saw the former sports star settled into his new life as the pub landlord of The Fox in St Brides Major, in Wales.

Although he was as handsome as ever, the rugby star looked somewhat unrecognisable with his bushy beard which was greying.

The sports personality cemented his fame as one of Wales national team when they bagged Grand Slams in the Six Nations Championship in 2005 and 2008.

Complimenting his sporting career, the rugby player also starred on a number of reality television shows which gave him a presence on the showbiz circuit.

He appeared on Strictly Come Dancing , The Bachelor and 2019's Celebrity Hunted.

Now Gavin has embarked on his new life with his wife Katie after he quit his rugby career in the limelight.

The hunk swapped his high-flying sports career for becoming the landlord of his own pub.

He was partnered up with Katya Virshilas on Strictly Come Dancing (BBC)

He explained the change had fallen into place well as his vision of running a pub had coincided with the end of him playing rugby.

It's been 10 months since he and Katie Wilson started renovations on their pub in a bid to turn it into a profitable business.

Gavin sharpened his skills as a labourer when he gutted the building and completed the renovations over a period of months.

The lovebirds have been so busy with work on the pub, they haven't had time for a honeymoon just yet.

But the pub landlord reassured his fans he was happily settled into his new life.

He told WalesOnline of his new life: "I'm just really passionate about the village...

He explained the change had fallen into place well as his vision of running a pub had coincided with the end of him playing rugby (Mark Lewis)

"The pub has always been run down and never run right. It coincided well with me finishing playing rugby.

"It’s something for me to do and not have that thought of ‘Oh God, what am I going to do with my life now'."
