Hosting the event, Lindsey Jordan of Unleashed Events, said: "It is fantastic to be back at The Fed in Gateshead with such a strong North East flavour….so strong you can almost smell the Newcastle Brown! Gateshead Comic-Con has grown from strength to strength over the years and attendees can look forward to a geeky filled day with fun and excitement that will appeal to the widest of geeky interests and fandoms.

"Enthusiasts, newcomers and families alike are guaranteed to have a great day out before we have to say Auf Wiedersehen, Pet!”

Here's everything you need to know about this year's Gateshead Comic Con.

What's on?

Autograph hunters and fans of the BBC science fiction series, Doctor Who, will be able to meet and greet Catrin Stewart - best known for playing Jenny Flint - while Lysette Anthony and Marcus Gilbet will also be in attendance. Lysette is well known for her role in the North East smash-hit TV series, Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, while Marcus appeared in Doctor Who Battlefield, as well as movies like Army of Darkness, Biggles, Rambo III and A Ghost in Monte Carlo.

Out of left-field Teesside-born Diane Youdale will also be meeting and greeting at the event. She's better known as Gladiator Jet, whom everyone remembers for her strength, agility, glamour - and of course, signature hair flick!

Photo opportunities will be available with all of the stars, as well as other amazing attractions like Baby Kong, Bilbo Baggins, the North East Ghostbuster and fantastic dinosaur displays from The Dino Den.

Local Living History, OPFOR 85 (S Coy) Training Wing will be there to educate and entertain you, so check out their amazing Cold War era uniforms and weapons display. A nostalgia-fest of retro arcade games will be available on a free-to-play basis, brought to you by North East Retro Gaming.

You can also hang with the rebels of the Star Wars Costuming Group, Rebel Legion or paint your very own Pokémon egg with Teesside based Geek Corner.

As well as guests and attractions there are comic creators, authors and loads of geeky traders with tons of geeky toys, comics, collectables, art, jewellery, gaming and so much more. There really is something for everyone.
