A gas leak in Shawlands has prompted an emergency closure on busy Pollokshaws Road.
The busy route’s southbound lane has been shut until further notice while Scottish Gas Networks deal with the issue at the junction with Langside Avenue, near the Shed nightclub and Langside Hall.
A traffic bulletin from Glasgow City Council reads: “Delays may be experienced, especially during peak periods, and drivers are advised to use an alternative route if possible.”
The junction is already a busy one, and often affected by tailbacks - so the southbound closure may cause more problems during today’s rush hour.
