Gary Neville picks three signings that will take Man Utd to the title next season

Gary Neville has named three potential signings for Manchester United that would help them win a first Premier League title since 2013.

The former United right-back believes his club should try to sign Tottenham striker Harry Kane, Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho and defender Raphael Varane of Real Madrid.

The Red Devils are invariably linked with dozens of potential signings this summer due to their financial capacity and ambitions to push towards both domestic and European glory.

England captain Kane has reportedly informed Spurs of his intentions of leaving the club this summer, with United among those linked to signing the 27-year-old this summer alongside Manchester City and Chelsea.

Despite the recent one-year contract extension of Edinson Cavani, United are still in the market to sign a striker this summer and Kane may be the number one target - although his price tag is likely to be prohibitive.

Dortmund forward Sancho is a long-term target for United, with the club having already reportedly agreed wages and agent fees regarding his transfer a year ago but his £120million price tag meant negotiations never took off.

However, the 21-year-old’s valuation has significantly lowered this season due to the economic ramifications of the pandemic and that may make a deal feasible this summer.

United are also on the lookout for a central defender to be a long-term defensive partner for Harry Maguire and Varane is another long-term target of the club.

Having previously been unattainable, the Frenchman is now back on United’s wanted list as his contract at Real Madrid expires in a year and negotiations have stalled.

Neville was holding a question-and-answer session on his Twitter account on Monday evening, where he was fielding a selection of questions from his followers.

When asked “Where can Man Utd finish next season with the right signings?”, Neville responded: “Varane, Kane and Sancho = title”.

It looks set to be a busy summer of transfer activity at Old Trafford, with the club also said to be in the market for a holding midfielder.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side finished second in the Premier League this season and will take on Villarreal in the Europa League final on Wednesday.
