Harry Kane is in line to feature more heavily for England when they face Denmark later this week.
The Tottenham striker played 24 minutes for the Three Lions in their 2-1 Nations League win over Belgium on Sunday, coming off the bench to replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Kane isn't actually injured, only suffering from muscle fatigue, but England boss Gareth Southgate is managing his playtime sensibly with a long season ahead.
"We're hoping that Harry, that progression tonight, I think he'll get more confidence from that so we'll have to assess both him and Jordan," Southgate said after the Belgium game, looking ahead to Wednesday's clash with Denmark.
"But certainly Harry should be able to play more minutes. Jordan is a little bit more complicated because with his club, he had 60 in his first match then 45 the following week so we are going to have to assess him very carefully."
Speaking before the game about Kane's situation and why he wasn't starting against Belgium, Southgate said: "He’s had a strange training week, we gave him a couple days recovery and he started training on Wednesday.
"He had a bit of cramp, so he’s had muscle fatigue and missed most of the week’s training.
"He got a little more confident towards the end of the week but hasn’t done enough to start. So he’s not injured, perhaps (he can feature) later in the game.
"Clearly no Kane no Sterling is a big loss but it’s great opportunities for others and this is the type of test we need."
Tottenham fans will, no doubt, be pleased to see Southgate taking no chances with Kane.
Spurs are back in Premier League action as soon as Sunday when they face West Ham.
