Gareth Bale 'to be offered' in exchange for Man Utd's Paul Pogba and more transfer rumours

Real Madrid are still trying to sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba and have a plan to lure the Frenchman to the Bernabeu - according to reports.

Pogba stated his intentions to leave the club during the summer but United had no intentions of parting ways with their star midfielder.

Madrid along with Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain were all reportedly interested in the World Cup winner but a move away from Old Trafford failed to materialise.

Reports in Spain suggest that Madrid still want to land the midfielder and will line up another move next summer.

El Desmarque report the Spanish giants plan to offer winger Gareth Bale as well as €100million to meet United's valuation as they feel the Wales international is worth €80m.

They also claim Zinedine Zidane could hold the key to the transfer as Real Madrid chiefs are unwilling to sanction a move for Pogba unless the Frenchman can improve their fortunes on the pitch. MEN Sport understands Bale is not a current target for United.

In other news, Manchester United are ready to pay £43m to sign Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller - reports suggest.

German publication Bild report that United want to sign the Germany international after he slipped down the pecking order with the Bundesliga champions.

However, they also suggest Inter Milan will rival the Reds for his signature. The 30-year-old is seen as a short-term replacement for United loanee Alexis Sanchez who is ruled out until 2020 after undergoing surgery.

Elsewhere, reports claim that Manchester United have registered an interest in Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez.

The MEN reported that plenty of United fans called for the club to make a move for the forward after his goal scoring display against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and it seems their calls have been answered.

FC Inter News claim United are eyeing a move for the forward who has scored six goals in 11 appearances this season to solve their striking woes.

Martinez has a €111m release clause at the San Siro and Inter are believed to be in negotiations over a new deal that would see that figure increase.
