Real Madrid star Gareth Bale tipped for Premier League return this summer - but not with Spurs

Gareth Bale's future will remain a talking point for much of the summer.

Despite the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus, the Wales international hasn't managed to become the main man at Real Madrid and did not play any part in Los Blancos' final three games of the 2018/2019 season.

Zinedine Zidane was quoted as saying it was "very clear what I've done" towards the end of the season when asked why he had been left out.

The relationship between the pair has reportedly reaching tipping point, with Real keen to offload the once world record signing this summer.

Manchester United and Tottenham have both been linked with a move for the Welshman, although his astronomical wages look certain to put Spurs off returning for one of their favourite sons.

Spurs fans have, however, suggested that Bale be used in a potential swap deal for Christian Eriksen, with the Dane admitting it may be time to look for a "new challenge" last week

Bale's agent has said on his client's future: "Should he be playing more after being left out of the last two squad lists? I can only hope that he keeps playing for Real Madrid.

"But that's up to Mr Zidane.

"Zidane makes the decision. Is this [Bale being axed] a message ahead of the next transfer market? You'd have to ask the coach."

Bale is tipped by Sky Bet to return to England this summer, but it is Manchester United who are the favourites to land him during the summer transfer window, not Spurs.

Bale is 10/11 odds-on to join Ole Gunner Solskjaer's Red Devils before the start of the 2019/20 season, with Spurs currently the second favourites at 7/2.
