Gareth Bale says he has "no regrets" about his time at Real Madrid as he reflected on being booed by his own fans.
The Welsh winger completed a season-long loan move back to former club Tottenham last week which looks to have signalled the beginning of the end of his time in Madrid.
Bale moved to the Bernabeu in a world record deal as a 24-year-old before going on to win four Champions League titles and two La Liga's among a host of major trophies.
However, despite his success at the club, Bale was jeered by Madrid supporters on several occasions and admits the experience was a steep learning curve.
"You just grow up, I think," Bale told Football Daily, when asked how the move to Madrid changed him. "You're obviously going into a different culture, a different country.
"I've had to grow up as a person never mind a footballer, and you just learn how to deal with the situations that you're in.
"Obviously I've been in immense pressure situations, I've had people on the pitch whistling in the stadium to me.
"I've just learnt how to deal with those type of things, not take it too seriously or too much to heart, just get on with it, it's football, something that you love doing and you just need to give your best and sometimes that's all you can do."
Bale's fractured relationship with boss Zinedine Zidane appeared to play a swift part in his exit.
But the 31-year-old's actions on a few occasions did anger the Madrid support.
His decision to hold up a banner reading: "Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order," did little to endear himself further to the Los Blancos faithful.
Following Project Restart he was also seen pretending to fall asleep on the subs bench while also using medical tape as makeshift binoculars.
Asked whether he would change anything about his time at the club though, Bale replied: "No, I don't have any regrets."

Bale is currently injured but is expected to be fit in time to make his first appearance back at Spurs next month.
And manager Jose Mourinho is already looking at potentially extending Bale's stay beyond this season.
"I didn't speak with Zinedine, but I believe that Zinedine is happy that he (Bale) left," Mourinho told Sky Sports .
"We are happy that he is here. Gareth, of course, is happy to be here. So hopefully at the end of the season we are all happy and he can stay with us."
