Gardai rush to scene as man, 40s, injured in shooting in Blanchardstown

Gardai and emergency services have rushed to the scene of a shooting in Blanchardstown.

Locals have reported a large garda presence in the area, along with the garda helicopter.

A man in his 40s was injured in the incident - his injuries are understood to not be life threatening.

He is believed to have been shot in his stomach, and was taken to hospital by emergency services.

The shooting is understood to have taken place at around 5.20pm today.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are at the scene of a shooting on Blakestown Road, Blanchardstown that occurred at approximately 5.20pm today 1 June 2019.

"A male in his 40’s has been taken to hospital. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
