Gardai rescue kitten stranded on M50 bridge

Blanchardstown gardai sprang into action after they received reports of a kitten stranded on an M50 bridge.

The black cat was spotted on the M50 bridge southbound near Junction 6 yesterday.

Quick thinking guards performed a rolling road block to ensure the spooked kitten was rescued safely.

An Garda Síochána tweeted: "This morning, Blanchardstown Gardaí received a report of a stranded kitten on the M50 bridge southbound, near Junction 6.

"Local Gardaí and Roads Policing units performed a rolling road block to allow for the kitten to be brought to safety!"

Dublin pet owners praised the gardai for their rescue mission.

One person said: "Ah isn't that class!! Well done everyone involved.

"Poor cateen."

Another wrote: "Could have been CATastrophic."

A third person commented: "Awww... well done lads! She doesn't look a bit grateful though."
