Gardai make arrests after cannabis sweets and large sum of cash seized in Dublin

Cannabis jellies worth €33,700 and €14,000 in cash have been seized in Dublin.

The seizure was made in Bluebell, Dublin 12 at approximately 6am on Sunday morning, Sunday.

A man (aged in his mid 30s) was driving in Bluebell when Gardai stopped his vehicle.

Gardai attached to Community Engagement Units in Kilmainham and Kevin Street Garda stations searched the vehicle under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977/84.

During the course of the search cash was seized and a small quantity of cannabis.

The man was arrested at the scene and take to Kevin Street Garda station where he was held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

In a follow up search of a residential property Gardaí seized cannabis jellies with an estimated street value of €33,700. An array of drug paraphernalia was also seized at the property. A man (40s) and woman (30s) were arrested and were detained at Kevin Street Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The two men were charged in relation to the seizure and appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice, this morning Monday 9th August, 2021 at 10.30a.m.

The woman was charged and will appear before Court on the 1st September, 2021.
