A woman has been found dead in an apartment in Dublin.
Gardaí are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death of the woman in her 40s whose body was discovered in a residential property in Royal Canal Park, Ashtown, Dublin 15.
The grim discovery was made this morning just before 10am.

Gardaí and Emergency Services were alerted to the incident at that time and inside an apartment discovered the woman unresponsive.
She was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
In a statement, gardaí said: "The scene is currently preserved to allow for a forensic and technical examination by the Garda Technical Bureau. The body of the deceased remains at the scene."
The Office of the State Pathologist has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be conducted at the Dublin City Mortuary.
In an update, gardaí have said no arrests have been made at this time, but confirmed that an adult male who was assisting An Garda Síochána with their enquires is now receiving medical treatment.
"Gardaí are not looking for anyone else in relation to this investigation. The investigation is ongoing," a garda statement read.
