Gardai launch investigation after body of missing man discovered in Portrane

Gardai have launched an investigation after the body of a missing man was discovered in Portrane.

Dublin Fire Brigade and Civil Defence rushed to seal off Middlefield Lane just off the Old Portrane Road earlier today, according to a local from the area.

Detectives and gardai were also spotted on the road where the body was discovered.

The body of the 31-year-old was removed to the City Morgue for a post-mortem examination.

Gardai are investigating all circumstances but foul play is suspected to not be involved.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: “Gardai in Swords have notified the Coroner in respect of the body of a missing man (31) discovered in the course of a search operation involving Garda units and Civil Defence in Portrane, Co Dublin on Thursday, 25 November 2021.

“His body has been removed to the City Morgue for a post-mortem examination.”
