Gardai intercept vehicle in Clondalkin packed full of stolen equipment

Gardai in west Dublin made a huge discovery of stolen equipment on Sunday afternoon.

The stash was found after the van was seen parked suspiciously in the Clondalkin area.

When officers examined the inside, they found a variety of stolen equipment reported missing from all over the Leinster area.

A spokesman for An Garda Siochana confirmed they were in the process of returning the equipment to their rightful owners.

They said: "On the 9th August, Gardaí from the Clondalkin area were carrying out routine patrols when they noticed a blue van parked up suspiciously.

"On examining this unattended vehicle, the members discovered that the van was packed full of property, which they later discovered was stolen during the course of a number of burglaries in the Leinster area a short time earlier.

"Gardaí are in the process of reuniting the property with their rightful owners. Investigating ongoing."
