Gardai confirm body found in search for young Irishman missing for over two weeks

A search for a young Irishman who went missing last month has been stood down after a body was found.

Gardai issued a missing person alert for Martin Donohoe after he disappeared from Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, on October 26.

Officers said that when last seen the 29-year-old was wearing his labourer workwear.

Both gardai and Martin's family were said to be "concerned for his well-being".

And tragically it has been confirmed this morning that a body has been found as part of the search.

The discovery was made in the River Barrow on Wednesday morning.

A garda spokesman said: "Following the recovery of a body from the River Barrow this morning, Wednesday 10th November 2021, the search for missing person Martin Donohoe has been stood down.

"An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in this matter. No further action is required and no further information is available at this time."
