Gardai called to massive party in Cork shed with over 100 people in attendance

Gardai attended a massive party that was being thrown in a shed in Cork last night with over 100 people attending the event.

The guards discovered the party in Blarney in full swing at 11pm and dispersed the crowds without any major incidents.

An investigation is now underway in to the organisation and attendance of the event and a file will be prepared for the DPP.

Gardai said that no public order incidents were reported at the party however there was a large crowd in attendance.

In a video shared by the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's Red FM, a large group of people can be seen in a large shed with music blasting, Cork Beo reports.

Ireland is currently in Level 5 restrictions which means gatherings of any sort are banned and travel limited to within 5km of your home.

In a statement Gardai said "The Health Act 1947 (Section 31A-Temporary Restrictions) (Covid-19) (No.10) Regulations 2020, as amended, are currently in force.

"Personal social responsibility, wearing of face coverings and social distancing are public health guidelines and should be followed by all individuals.

"The COVID-19 Pandemic remains a public health crisis and An Garda Síochána continues to appeal to all citizens to demonstrate personal and social responsibility to comply with Public Health Guidelines and Regulations, in order to continue to save lives."
