Gardai appeal for witnesses after Ballymun crash

Gardai are urgently appealing for witnesses after a serious collision in Ballymun.

A pedestrian, aged in his 60s, was struck by a car shortly after 3pm. The incident occurred on the R108 Ballymun Road.

The man was rushed to the Mater Hospital where he remains in critical condition. It is understood the car involved in the incident fled the scene.

A male in his late teens has been arrested in connection with the crash. He is currently detained at a Garda station in Dublin.

Gardai are requesting anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the collision to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact Ballymun Garda Station 01 666 4400 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
