Gang launch racist attack on taxi driver before blocking his car from leaving Paisley street

A taxi driver was the victim of a racist attack in Paisley in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident happened in Saints Street, near to Love Street, at 4.10am on August 11.

The worker claims he had been sitting in his silver Mercedes when he was subjected to a verbal assault, before the suspects blocked the taxi from leaving the street.

A police Scotland spokesperson said: "All suspect males are believed to be in their 20s, one wearing a grey tracksuit, one in grey shorts and a grey hoodie and one in a grey and blue hoodie.

"The males are then alleged to have blocked the taxi from leaving the street for a short time before the arrival of a second taxi.

"If anyone has any information or dash cam footage of the incident, please contact police on 101 or anonymously on Crime Stoppers on 0800555111, quoting incident number 1327 of the 11th August."
