GameCity festival interviews – Mitu Khandaker-Kokoris

Mitu Khandaker-Kokoris, developer of sci-fi Facebook satire Redshirt, talks about the allure of GameCity

Taking place every October in and around the centre of Nottingham, GameCity is a celebration of offbeat and independent game creation. Featuring talks, classes and discussions as well as an “open arcade” of playable demos its one of the most interesting and inclusive events on the games industry calendar.

This year, we’ll be running regular video interviews with developers attending the festival, and we’re starting with Mitu Khandaker-Kokoris, creator of the science fiction adventure Redshirt, a clever, funny parody of social media.

Here, she talks about the forthcoming iOS version of her game, as well as the appeal of GameCity, which this year has its own dedicated venue, a five-story gaming megaplex in the city centre.
