Game of Thrones theories: Jon Snow won't kill Daenerys, but Arya Stark WILL

With just two episodes of Game of Thrones to go, there are some big battles to be fought to decide who will claim the Iron Throne.

At the moment, fans are predicting Jon Snow will be forced to slay his lover/aunt to fulfill his destiny as the Prince Who Was Promised.

As the legend goes, the prince of the Red Priests' religion is in possession of the Lightbringer sword, which will only swing into action if quenched in 'living fire' - namely, the heart of a loved one.

The OG prince, Azor Ahai, brought it to life by stabbing his willing wife in the heart, leaving fans speculating Jon may have to do the same to the Mother of Dragons, who is, after all, living fire.

However, there's a new way of thinking gathering momentum, and that's that Arya Stark could be the one to take down the Dragon Queen, and not her half-brother Jon.

With Daenerys showing signs of following in the footsteps of her father, Mad King Aerys, the rift between her and Stark sisters Arya and Sansa is growing more fierce.

Daenerys is refusing to let the North rule itself for fear it could set a dangerous precedent and encourage other kingdoms to seek independence.

And viewers reckon Arya may fulfil the Red Woman's prophecy of closing brown, green and blue eyes by taking out Daenerys - who has green eyes, by the way.

Whatever happens, with Daenerys seemingly becoming more and more unhinged, her once loyal allies are drifting away at pace leaving the Throne's future looking more uncertain than ever.
