Game of Thrones season 8: Where is Ghost? Fans fear for Jon Snow's direwolf after Battle of Winterfell

Game of Thrones fans were prepared to say a tearful, bloody goodbye to many beloved characters during the battle at Winterfell, but there was one they were not willing to let go.

Ghost, Jon Snow's faithful direwolf, is seen right near the opening scenes as he runs fearlessly with the Dothraki hordes towards the charging wights.

Right up to the very last moments of episode 3, season 8, fans failed to spot a glimpse of Ghost alive, and many presumed the worst.

However, the eagle-eyed among them are breathing a sigh of relief after the trailer for episode four aired. In a scene that lasts for less than half a second during the trailer, you can see him standing amongst the soldiers at Winterfell the day after the battle.

Ghost is alive!

The trailer for Game of Thrones‘ next episode teases not only the outcome of the big Winterfell fight, but the climactic showdown at King’s Landing.

With one fight out of the way – and three episodes left to go of the HBO series – the characters look set to prepare for what Daenerys is calling “the last war”.

This means that, after two weeks of absence, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) is back with Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbaek) by her side – and those who survived the Night King battle will be heading to King’s Landing to remove her from the Iron Throne.
