Gambia reporter threatened with death by police

A newspaper journalist in The Gambia, was arrested and manhandled by para-military police while covering a student demonstration in Serrekunda, the country's largest city. Fabakarr Ceesay, a reporter with the bi-weekly Foroyaa, said one gun-toting policeman told him: "We can kill you and nothing will come out of it. You journalists are liars and unpatriotic."
