Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere holding pop-up hub in Newton Stewart

The Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere team is inviting people to find out more about the organisation.

They are holding a pop-up info hub at The Vaults in Newton Stewart on July 21 and 22, giving everyone the chance to go along and find out more about the region’s UNESCO designation.

The biosphere’s deputy manager Marie McNulty said: “This pop-up hub in Newton Stewart follows our very successful event in Girvan at the end of last year when we met such an incredible range of people – shop owners, community leaders, even the local primary school came along and we were able to share with them some of what makes our UNESCO biosphere unique.

“We’re hoping to achieve the same with this event: spreading the word that the Biosphere is a participatory organisation and that it absolutely belongs to everyone who lives here.”

One of the attractions will be a special session for businesses on July 21, offering the chance to have a chat with the biosphere’s business development team. It runs from 5pm to 7pm.

The community and education team will also be in attendance ahead of returning to The Vaults for Newton Stewart’s Pride celebrations on July 23 and co-hosting the Green Fayre at Macmillan Hall on August 6 with Newton Stewart Initiative, Machars & Cree Valley Climate Action Network and Home Energy Scotland

The pop-up hub will take place on July 21 and 22 from 10am to 4pm.

There is no need to book but further details are available by emailing jenna@gsabiosphere.org.uk
