Galashiels: police launch appeal to find missing 78-year-old man David McLeod

Police have asked the public to help them locate a 78-year-old man reported missing from Galashiels.

David McLeod was reported to be wearing a Scotland beanie hat, blue coat, dark trousers and walking boots, police said in a tweet early on Friday morning (December 17).

Galashiels is a town in the Scottish Borders with a population of around 12,600. It is located in the county of Selkirkshire, approximately 35 miles south of Edinburgh.

Anyone with information related to Mr McLeod's whereabouts is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting ref 3373 of 16/12/2021.

In a tweet on the matter sent at 2:11am, Lothians & Scottish Borders Police wrote:

"MISSING MAN – DAVID MCLEOD.

"We are appealing for help to trace a 78-year-old man reported missing in Galashiels. David was last seen wearing a Scotland beanie hat, a blue coat, dark trousers and walking boots.

"Please contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting ref 3373 of 16/12/2021."
