Gala 2020: Peckham Rye festival reveals Jayda G, Horse Meat Disco and more as headliners as it extends to two days

Jayda G, Horse Meat Disco and Gerd Janson will be among the headliners of next year’s Gala festival, which will extend to two days for the first time in 2020.

The south London festival, which will return to Peckham Rye Park for its fifth edition from May 23-24, will also see performances from Job Jobse and Bradley Zero. Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM will be in attendance as well.

The announced artists will each curate their own stages at the festival, with details of the main stage headliners and further acts to be announced in February.

Gala, which focuses predominantly on house and disco, had won plaudits for maintaining its relatively small capacity of 9,000 people in recent years.

The same amount of tickets will be sold for each day in 2020, increasing the overall capacity to 18,000 across the weekend.

Running Back label co-founder Janson will host Gala’s indoor Pleasure Dome stage, which will later be helmed by south London crew Horse Meat Disco.

Dutch DJ Jobse will bring his Strangelove party to a UK festival for the first time, and Peckham favourite Bradley Zero will take over the Open Dome area. Worldwide FM will also take residence here.

Jayda G, who earlier this year held down a residency at Phonox in Brixton, will host the Stretch stage.
