Gabrielle Union And Kirsten Dunst Open To 'Bring It On' Sequel

Bring It On

If you're a fan of the 2000 film 'Bring It On,' you may be excited to learn that there is a possibility of a sequel featuring original stars Gabrielle Union and Kirsten Dunst. In the movie, Union and Dunst play the captains of rival cheer squads who eventually form a friendship despite their initial rivalry.

While there have been sequels and direct-to-video films in the 'Bring It On' franchise, none have reunited Union and Dunst on screen. However, there have been hints that a sequel with the original stars could be in the works.

Both Union and Dunst were present at this year's SXSW Film & TV Festival in March, promoting their respective projects. Union, an executive producer on the film 'The Idea of You,' expressed openness to the idea of working with Dunst again when asked about the possibility of a sequel.

'Bring It On' director Peyton Reed has also shown interest in a sequel with Union and Dunst, discussing the idea of a '20-years-later' storyline that would explore generational themes related to cheerleading.

Dunst, too, has hinted at a potential return to the franchise, noting that many projects are being revived and expressing a willingness to participate as long as the project is not 'embarrassing.'

While nothing has been confirmed yet, the prospect of a 'Bring It On' sequel with Gabrielle Union and Kirsten Dunst has generated excitement among fans of the original film. As discussions continue and interest remains high, it will be interesting to see if this beloved cheerleading story will make a comeback on the big screen.

'Civil War,' a film starring Kirsten Dunst, is set to hit theaters on April 12, adding to the buzz surrounding the actress and the potential for a 'Bring It On' sequel.
