Gabriel breaks Arsenal players' social media silence as Allegri is favourite to replace Arteta

Here's all the news from around the Emirates Stadium over the past 24 hours.

Europa League draw details

The Europa League round of 32 draw has not been too kind to Arsenal.

Sealing their passage through to the knockout phase with two games to spare, Mikel Arteta's side ensured they were one of the seeded teams for Monday afternoon's draw in Switzerland after topping Group B.

And their reward for winning all six group games is a tie against Benfica.

It's arguably the toughest tie the Gunners could have asked for and will have their work cut out if they want to reach the final which takes place in Gdansk come May.

Europa League: First knockout round draw in full

The first-leg takes place in Portugal on February 18th with the return leg in north London seven days later.

Arteta will give his thoughts on the draw when he speaks to the media on Tuesday to preview the team's crunch Premier League clash against Southampton.

Gabriel's plea to Arsenal fans

The Gunners will go into the game against Southampton off the back of a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Burnley on Sunday night.

An own goal from captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the second half was enough to condemn Arsenal to their fourth straight home defeat in the Premier League, and piled further pressure on manager Mikel Arteta.

Gunners defender Gabriel Magalhaes, who moved to the Emirates in the summer transfer window, took to social media to break the Arsenal players' silence after the match as he issued an apology to supporters.

Gabriel tweeted after the game (Twitter)

"Sorry fans, we will get out of this situation. We need you!" he tweeted.

Allegri favourite to replace Arteta

With Mikel Arteta under pressure, bookmakers have slashed the odds on former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri becoming the new Arsenal, should the Spaniard lose his job.

Allegri has been installed as the 23/10 favourite by Betfair to succeed Arteta, whilst Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers is the 3/1 second favourite.

Meanwhile, Darren Bent believes Arteta's time in charge in north London could be coming to an end after recent results.

"Yeah. I don’t really like saying that because I wanted to give him a chance," he said when discussing Arteta’s future on talkSPORT.

"He did great things so quickly by winning trophies [the FA Cup and Community Shield].

"But when you lose to Burnley, the performance today and the way the team’s going, the form of Aubameyang, the [Mesut] Ozil situation, the red cards, I think, potentially, now his time is up."
