- Donald Trump has been speaking at the Nato summit in The Hague, days after the US bombed Iranian nuclear facilities to stop it developing weaponry.
- Asked during the summit if the US would strike Iran again if it attempted to rebuild its nuclear programme, Donald Trump said “sure”.
- The US president said his administration wouldn’t let Iran recover its nuclear development, adding he believed the US would “end up having somewhat of a relationship with Iran”, citing the US-brokered ceasefire agreed to between Israel and Iran.
- After earlier lashing out at reports of leaked US intelligence undermining his claim Iran’s nuclear sites were obliterated, Trump told the summit the intelligence was “very inconclusive” when asked to confirm its veracity, while also comparing US strikes on nuclear sites to Hiroshima atomic bombing.
