Furious This Morning fans vow to boycott show following Eamonn and Ruth axe

Furious This Morning viewers have vowed to boycott the show after it was revealed that favourites Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes would be replaced.

The Daily Mirror exclusively revealed that the much-loved presenters would be dropped on Fridays after 14 years in favour of Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.

However, Eamonn and Ruth are still set to cover for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield during the holidays.

The pair, who have presented the show since 2006, are said to be "furious and upset" by the move - and so are fans, who declared that they would no longer watch the show.

One commented: "I for one won't be watching a Friday morning. Love Eamon and Ruth. Think they just bounce off each other."

While another wrote: "I love watching Ruth & Eamonn. They are so funny the banter between them is good. This morning wont the same when they’re not on."

A third commented: "The only day of the week I watch is Friday. Just because Ruth and Eamonn are on. Don't watch it the rest of the week. Can't stand to hear Holly's screeching voice!!! Ruth and Eamonn are so good together and always brighten my day."

Another seethed: "I'm raging."

Alison and former  X Factor  host O'Leary, 47, have previously been paired as stand-in presenters - most recently last month - and bosses have been hugely impressed by their chemistry.

“They have real warmth,” an insider said. “It's time for a change and they are perfect.

“Eamonn is pretty furious and everyone feels for him and Ruth, they are well liked on the team, but sometimes tough decisions have to be made.”
