A fundraiser in memory of a baby girl has raised more than £2,600.
Gemma Wallace, of Pappert in Bonhill, organised the drive for charity Baby Loss Retreat after tragically losing her daughter Maisie at 26 weeks.
The organisation supports all those affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal death, providing one-to-one support, counselling and giving bereaved parents the opportunity to go away on tranquil retreats.
It has given Gemma invaluable support and she decided to give something back by organising a fundraiser.
She set up a JustGiving page in a bid to generate £1000 for the charity, and smashed her target, raising a total of £2,640.
Money has been raised through kind donations, including through a fundraising book sale at Balloch House Hotel, organised by Gemma’s friend Jacqueline Lamont.
Another friend’s nephew is talented young singer Jack Mullen, who busked at Helensburgh Summer Festival to raise money for the cause.
Gemma said: “I am absolutely blown away with everyone’s love and support.
“This is also going to help siblings with music therapy sessions following a loss.
“I have had seven counselling sessions and I’m going to stay at the retreat in August.”
On Sunday, four determined Bonhill friends are taking on the West Highland Way to raise funds for the charity.
Jamie MacLean, John Brennan, Glen Halliday and Stuart Mcfarlane are currently undergoing the gruelling 96-mile trek for Baby Loss Retreat.
Taxi driver Jamie decided to organise the challenge in support of Gemma who is his neighbour.
