Full Liverpool squad revealed for West Ham clash as Jurgen Klopp could start wonderkid

West Ham travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on Saturday evening, with both sides looking to continue their recent good form in the Premier League.

The Hammers arrive on Merseyside unbeaten in four games with an impressive sequence of results, including wins over Leicester and Wolves; and draws against Tottenham and Manchester City.

Liverpool are also making steady progress in their bid to retain the title, with a 2-1 win over Sheffield United last time out.

Jurgen Klopp's side come into the game with a series of problems, however, with Virgil van Dijk ruled out long term after undergoing successful surgery on an ACL injury.

Liverpool v West Ham: David Moyes press conference

The defender was seriously hurt in the early stages of the 2-2 draw with Everton earlier this month, after a clash with Jordan Pickford.

Fabinho is also out of the game, after picking up a hamstring problem in the 2-0 win over Midtjylland on Tuesday.

The Brazilian's injury leaves Klopp with a real shortage of senior centre-backs for the West Ham clash, given Joel Matip is also unavailable.

Teenager Rhys Williams could make his Premier League debut against the Hammers, after coming off the bench to replace the injured Fabinho against Midtjylland in midweek.

Asked about Williams in his pre-match press conference, Klopp said: "I cannot say too much about his progress in the last few years, to be 100% honest.

"But I can say a lot about his progress in the last few weeks or months since he is with us [in first team training].

"This is pretty exceptional. But he was already a really good kid when he arrived here.

"The situation was one of the benefits of having Vitor Matos in the coaching staff.

"He made us aware of [Williams] and said 'he is really good, take him in training' so that's what we did. He looked good!"

Elsewhere, West Ham have some injury problems of their own, with forward Michail Antonio ruled out of the game with a hamstring problem.

The striker picked up the problem in last weekend's 1-1 draw with Manchester City, but Hammers manager David Moyes is hopeful the injury isn't too serious.

“He's been great for us, he's an important member of the team,” Moyes said in his press conference.

“We don't think it is too bad but it is enough to keep him out of this game that is for sure.”
