Full list of term dates and bank holidays to put in your diary for school

The schools are well and truly back into full swing following the summer holidays.

With pupils having begun a new term following the public holiday for the Queen's funeral, some youngsters may be wondering when their next bank holiday is for them to enjoy. Meanwhile, adults will be wanting to get the dates down in the diary to prepare.

For those who need to be organised, whether it's to sort out childcare or plan a holiday or activities, there are still bank holidays and days off planned for Glasgow schools.

Here's all you need to know about the remaining bank holidays and school holidays for the rest of the term.

School holidays

September

Schools will be closed on Friday September 23 and Monday September 26 2022 for the September weekend holiday.

October holiday

There will be an inservice day on Friday October 14 2022.

Schools will be closed from Monday, October 17 - 21 to Friday, 21 October 2022.

December - Christmas and New Year holidays

Schools in Glasgow will close at 2.30pm on Thursday, December, 22 2022 with the holidays running until January 3 and schools will reopen on 4th 2023.

February mid term break

Kids in Glasgow will enjoy a long weekend with days off on Monday, February 13, 14, and 15 (in-service day).

April - Spring Holiday (Easter)

As for the Spring holiday (Easter), school will shut at 2.30pm on Friday March 31 and reopen on Monday 17 April.

May

May Day holiday fall on Monday, May 1 and there will be an inservice day on May 25. A long weekend will fall on Friday 26 May until 29.

June

Schools will close at 1.00pm on Friday June 23 2023, for the summer holidays.

Bank holidays for 2022

The remaining bank holidays for this year are as followed;

  • Wednesday, November 30: St Andrew's Day

  • Monday, December 26: Boxing Day

  • Tuesday, December 27
