There was widespread celebration last night as some of the restrictions that are set to be lifted were leaked from the Government's meeting with members from the National Public Health Emergency Team.
We saw in April that a 'phased' relaxing of some restrictions lifted the public mood without doing too much damage to the case number totals.
And having already had the likes of the 5km travel limit scrapped, we're set to see a major reopening of the country across the next few weeks.
Here are all the key dates we expect Micheál Martin to give when the Taoiseach addresses the nation this evening - and what will happen on them.
May 10th
Travel : The inter-county travel ban is lifted
Personal services : Hairdressers and barbers can reopen
Retail : Retail can reopen for click-and-collect services
Construction : The full return of the construction industry
Vaccine bonus : Fully vaccinated people are allowed to meet outdoors
Religious services : Mass can resume with 50 attendees only.
Sport : Team sports training for adults can resume
May 17th
Retail : All non-essential retail shops will open
June 2

June 7

NPHET shared its advice with the Covid-19 Cabinet sub-committee last night, and a full list of recommendations will be brought before a meeting of Cabinet this afternoon.
The decision will then be finalised before the Taoiseach makes his address to the nation this evening.
Here is everything we know about the announcement so far.
You can follow all the updates from Cabinet and NPHET ahead of a busy day for the reopening plan of Ireland on the Irish Mirror's live blog here.
