Full deep clean at Waitrose store in Cheadle Hulme after staff members test positive for coronavirus

A Waitrose store in Stockport has undergone a deep clean after a number of staff members tested positive for coronavirus.

Everyone affected is now self-isolating following the outbreak at the supermarket on Station Rd, Cheadle Hulme.

Bosses are working with the local health authority to take all appropriate measures, a spokesman said in a statement.

They did not confirm how many members of staff have tested positive.

The store has been reopened in accordance with guidance from Public Health England.

In the full statement, a spokesman said: "The safety of our customers and partners is our top priority.

"We've carried out a full deep clean of our Cheadle store after a number of Partners working there testing positive for Covid-19.

"All affected Partners are now self isolating and we are working with the local health authority to take all appropriate measures."
