Fulham handed transfer boost as Igor’s agent confirms defender wants to leave Fiorentina

Fulham hopes of signing Fiorentina defender Igor have been boosted after the defender’s agent confirmed he wants to leave the Italian club this summer.

Standard Sport reported this week that Fulham are keen on the centre-back, seeing the 25-year-old as a replacement for Tosin Adarabioyo, who is out of contract at Craven Cottage next summer.

Igor has been a regular in the Fiorentina side, but his agent Marcelo Mascagni has now stated that the Brazilian is looking for a move ahead of the new season.

“I spoke to Fiorentina about Igor’s future and the intention is to leave in the summer,” Mascagni told ViolaNews.

“The Viola club is also in agreement. We haven’t received any official offers yet, but we’re looking around.”

That news has been expected, with reports in Italy suggesting that Fiorentina would be willing to sell for a fee in the region of €15m.

Fulham’s transfer activity will have a significant role to play as Marco Silva makes a decision over his future at the club. The manager has one year left on his current deal and while Fulham hope talks will lead to a new deal, the 45-year-old wants to see investment.

Silva also wants Joao Palhinha to remain at the club, with the midfielder attracting interest from West Ham, as they look for a Declan Rice replacement, and Aston Villa.
