Fulham aim 'dig' at Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after draw in Premier League

Fans believe Fulham have aimed a cheeky dig at Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after his comments about the pitch following Saturday's 2-2 draw.

The Reds got their Premier League campaign off to a difficult start as they found themselves a goal down at half-time to the Premier League newcomers. Darwin Nunez found an equaliser, but soon after the hosts were back in front after a penalty.

Mohamed Salah equalised late on but Liverpool were only able to savour a point at Craven Cottage. Klopp was unhappy with his team's performance, but raised a point about the pitch in one of his post-match interviews.

“The pitch was dry, stuff like this, we played really (into) their cards. Most of the time when we found a bit of direction we ended up in front of their goal and hit the crossbar, all these kind of things," he said.

Fulham's official Twitter account shared a tweet on Sunday morning appearing to mock the German's comments. "The Craven Cottage turf looking absolutely lush yesterday," it read, followed by a water emoji.

Klopp's post-match analysis was much wider and went into further detail, however. And it wasn't without criticism of his own players as he questioned their attitude in the game.

He also said: "The best thing about today was the result. The fact we got a point after a really bad game from my side. Now it’s a question of ‘how can that happen?’.

"The attitude was not right in the beginning, then we wanted to fight back, but you don’t find it easy anymore."
