Fresh cases of Covid-19 confirmed in Leeds as total nears 3,700

Eight more people have been infected with coronavirus in Leeds, the latest figures show.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 3,632.

Across Yorkshire 28,769 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed so far - an increase of 88 in 24 hours.

Bradford saw the biggest jump with 22 new cases, followed by Kirklees with 14 newly infected people.

The only area which did not record any new cases was Hull.

Earlier today NHS England confirmed that no coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded in Leeds hospitals for 12 days in a row.

Elsewhere in Yorkshire, two more patients have sadly from the disease.

This brings the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in Yorkshire to 2,519.

  • Doncaster - was 1,986 now 1,990
  • East Yorkshire - was 1,642 now 1,643
  • Hull - still 1,538
