Fresh Alex Moreno transfer claims emerge after Nottingham Forest turned down

The possibility of Nottingham Forest coming back in for Real Betis left-back Alex Moreno has not been 'ruled out', according to reports.

Forest were set to sign the Spaniard before he rejected a move to the City Ground having been heavily linked throughout the summer. Although the 29 year-old acknowledged the Reds' offer as an 'important' one, he confirmed he would be staying in Seville.

The message posted by Moreno on his social media read: "Hi Beticos and Beticas [Betis fans], I wanted to share this message with you all and say that Real Betis will continue being my home this season. But it's certain that the club and myself received a proposal from another club. I am grateful for the important offer I have received but after evaluating it, both Real Betis and I decided to continue walking together."

However, according to journalist Jose Lopez, Forest could come back "stronger" for Moreno. He said: "It is not even ruled out that they will come back stronger for Alex Moreno. They have not yet signed a 'substitute' and it hurt them that the Baetic side would back down with everything closed."

Meanwhile, there is already a five-year agreement in place for Houssen Aouar, as he is set to become the Tricky Trees' latest summer signing.

Should Forest revisit Alex Moreno's potential signing? Let us know in the comment section below...
