As Easter approaches across Europe, the French Riviera echoes with vibrant Carnival celebrations that showcase the rich cultural heritage and creativity of the region. In the picturesque town of Menton, nestled along the Mediterranean coast, the Lemon Festival, or 'Fête du Citron,' dazzled spectators with its 90th edition honoring the upcoming Olympics in Paris.

Adorned with sculptures of athletes made from lemons and oranges, the Carnival parade in Menton paid tribute to sportsmanship, art, and music. From a boxer to a surfer named John Lemon, the floats brought to life the theme of 'From Olympia to Menton,' merging ancient athletic traditions with contemporary sports.

Meanwhile, in the capital city of Nice, the annual Carnival season kicked off in grand style with a pop culture-themed parade featuring extravagant floats and vibrant displays. From Luke Skywalker as king to Marilyn Monroe dressed as Superwoman, the parade captured the imagination of spectators and transported them into a world of fantasy and fun.
