French bulldog puppy found dead in burn near Wishaw

A tiny puppy was found dead in a burn near to Wishaw.

The female French bulldog pup, believed to be between five and eight weeks old,  was discovered floating in water near Murdouston Road, Bonkle, in North Lanarkshire on March 24.

The Scottish SPCA is trying to establish how the puppy died and whether she was dead before she was put in the burn.

Inspector Heather Lawson said, “We’ve estimated the puppy was between five and eight weeks old.

“The caller found the dog in the burn near Murdouston Road in Bonkle.

“We don’t think she had been in the water long.

“We are unable to determine how the puppy died and whether she was dead before she was put in the burn.

“We are appealing to members of the public to see if they can shed any light on how the puppy came to be found in these circumstances.
