Fred sends message to Manchester United summer signing Alex Telles

Fred has hailed the 'quality' of Manchester United signing Alex Telles.

The Brazilian left-back joined his compatriot at Old Trafford in the summer transfer window after United agreed a £13.6m fee plus add-ons with his former side FC Porto.

Telles officially became a United player on deadline day of the summer window as he put pen to paper on a four-year contract with the option to extend by a further year.

The 27-year-old first appeared on United's radar in 2014 when playing at Galatasaray and was extensively watched over the past two years by numerous members of the club's scouting team, including their Portuguese scout and chief scout. United have long regarded him as the best left-back in Portugal and believe he is the ideal profile to come into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first team squad.

Yet despite such high acclaim Telles has only made one appearance for United since his arrival in October, playing 66 minutes in their Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain.

Telles played 66 minutes at the Parc des Princes before being replaced but saw his fine progress immediately halted when he was sidelined for two weeks having tested positive for coronavirus.

Despite having only played once in the last month Telles was named as part of the Brazil squad for the international break and flew out to join his teammates on Monday.

Taking to social media he uploaded a number of pictures from his first training session and United teammate Fred was one of the hundreds to send him a message of support.

"Too much quality," wrote Fred on Instagram followed by a clapping hands and fist bump emoji.

Brazil face Venezuela on Saturday before Telles takes on fellow deadline day arrival Edinson Cavani in a match against Uruguay next Tuesday.
