Frantic search to find missing Ayrshire man who vanished five days ago

An appeal has issued this afternoon to help find a missing Kilmarnock man with links to Ayr.

Police Scotland is appealing for information to help trace Stephen Mitchell, aged 57, who was last seen in Kilmarnock.

Stephen was last seen at 9.45am on Saturday, October 22, in Kilmarnock Town Centre.

He is described as being around five foot nine tall, black hair, which is almost bald, last seen wearing a black jacket, grey T-shirt, black and white striped jogging bottoms and black trainers.

There have been recent reports that Stephen has been seen in Ayr Town Centre in particular, and anyone from that area is encouraged to contact police with any information relating to places frequented, or persons Stephen is associating with.

Sergeant Hazel Kirk said: “As time goes on, we are growing increasingly concerned for Stephen.

“If anybody has seen Stephen or has any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts, then please contact us.

“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2992 of October 22, 2022.”
