Frank Lampard has perfect Everton after Anthony Gordon admission

Your Everton morning headlines for Tuesday, March 29.

Lampard has perfect chance to send a message with bold Everton team decision

The international break is a huge moment for the players who aren’t away on duty to catch Frank Lampard’s eye - but there are also several players that the fans have wanted to see more of.

Nathan Patterson hasn't played much at all apart from 45 minutes against Boreham Wood in the cup; we want to see what this kid's all about. I knew a lot about him because of the Rangers connection and the people I spoke to have been bigging this kid up for years.

COMMENT: Dele Alli facing key Everton spell as transfer question looms for Frank Lampard

He’s come to a club where it’s similar to Rangers, in that the club captain is the right-back. So his time has been limited. But listening to how Frank Lampard’s spoken about him, Nathan is here for the now and he’s here for the future.

Nathan has come into a new environment. The training sessions might be slightly different, he's maybe not used to it and is getting to grips with everything that happens. He’s been under three managers in his short stint at the club, so he might not understand the training methods or fully how it works at Everton.

Gordon makes Lampard backroom staff admission

Everton midfielder Anthony Gordon has praised the impact Joe Edwards and Paul Clement have had on his game since joining the club as coaches under Frank Lampard.

The coaching duo had previously worked for Chelsea, Edwards leaving in January to join Lampard at Everton, and Clement in 2011 to work not only for Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich but also as manager for Derby County. The Trio are all back under the same roof on Merseyside and have been tasked with keeping the club in the Premier League.

But given the history of Edwards and Clement, Edwards was a part of the coaching set-up at the Stamford Bridge outfit which developed the likes of Mason Mount, Reece James and Calum Hudson-Odoi from promising academy players to full England internationals and first-team players at Chelsea, they will also be expected to develop some of the more promising talents coming through Goodison Park.

One of the brightest starts currently in the first-team is 21-year-old Anthony Gordon, who has spoken openly about the role the pair have had on him since arriving in January.
