Frank Lampard fires Liverpool warning over team strength ahead of Chelsea FA Cup clash

Frank Lampard is adamant Chelsea will field a strong team in their FA Cup showdown with Liverpool.

The Reds travel to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday aiming to reach the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time under Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool are expected to again ring the changes, although their starting line-up will be much more recognisable than the Academy side that knocked out Shrewsbury Town in the fourth round.

But Chelsea boss Lampard, despite a number of injury concerns, won’t rely on the fixture to give his fringe players minutes.

“Cement and go for victory,” he said. “It is Liverpool, our fans are coming in the FA Cup to try to overturn the best team in the land.

“It doesn't mean I might not change a couple of people.

“There might be something for freshness of legs or a couple of different options, but I won't pick a team to casually give minutes… treat it like I would any Premier League game.”

Blood Red: Frank Lampard - Chelsea must aspire to be like Liverpool

Chelsea will be missing a number of players, with N’Golo Kante and Callum Hudson-Odoi definitely out and Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham almost certain to be absent.

Jorginho will be available despite serving suspensions in the Premier League and Champions League.
