Frank Lampard cannot guarantee Callum Hudson-Odoi stays at Chelsea amid Bayern interest

Frank Lampard has said he wants to Callum Hudson-Odoi to stay at Chelsea after Bayern Munich confirmed their interest in the winger.

But Lampard did not rule out the possibility of Hudson-Odoi leaving before Monday’s transfer deadline, with Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick confirming the German giants are interested in Hudson-Odoi.

Lampard said on Friday that he would consider a loan move Hudson-Odoi if the deal was right for Chelsea and the player. But, speaking Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 4-0 on Saturday, Lampard said he does not want the 19-year-old to leave.

Lampard said: “Callum is absolutely part of my plans here. We had Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech injured, we saw Christian come back in today.

"But we need options on the wings and what Callum showed in the second half today and when he came on against West Brom was exactly what he needs to show. I am very pleased with him.”

Pressed on whether Hudson-Odoi would be allowed to leave, Lampard said: “There is no definitive answer. By Monday we will know a definitive answer.

"If they have declared their interest that is one thing, but everything that happens by Monday will be firstly good for us as a club, and also what Callum wants will come into consideration.

“But it has to be right for everybody. At the moment I want Callum as part of my squad, particularly when he is offering up what he offered up in the second half today.”
