France veterinary team treats pets of wildfire evacuees

At the Bordeaux Exhibition Centre, a veterinary area has been set up for pets belonging to people evacuated by wildfires in Gironde. Vets are on hand to distribute food and provide medical support.

The facility was created after residents were forced to leave their homes as wildfires spread across France's southwestern Gironde region. Volunteers and veterinary professionals have been caring for animals, from dogs and cats to rabbits, helping families cope with the disruption.

Evacuees said the presence of the veterinary team brought reassurance during a difficult period, allowing them to keep their animals with them while they wait to return home.
