Fox's to open downtown Chicago store

Nov. 10--Fox's, a retailer that bills itself as a "designer off-price" merchant, plans to open a store at the southwest corner of State and Madison streets in downtown Chicago.

The Fox's store will be on the second floor, above Zumiez.

Signs in the window Tuesday said it was coming in October, though the escalator inside was still covered in plastic. The company's website also said the store at 7 W. Madison is "coming soon." Locally, Fox's already has stores in Skokie and Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood, according to its website.

Justina Norotsky, a Fox's advertising and marketing executive, told the Tribune on Tuesday that the Madison Street store will open "soon." The careers page on the company's website says it's seeking part-time and full-time sales employees for the new downtown store.

"We have 16 locations and continue to grow," the jobs notice says.

One of the Chicago-area stores carries brands like Calvin Klein, Michael Kors and Tahari, often at 30 percent to 70 percent off original prices. Norotsky said brands vary by location.

A Fox's in Oakbrook Terrace closed recently, though Norotsky said the company wants to reopen another store there.

Fox's is based in Mineola, N.Y.
