As a liberal minded person, I just want to make the world better for everyone. So the “liberal outrage,” as it has been labeled, is rooted in compassion. Every single thing blamed on us though tends to be the Right just making things up. Like this Sydney Sweeney ad nonsense.
It started with an American Eagle ad with questionable wording. The Left called it out and then it snowballed into the White House praising her and the ad, Fox News making her their new obsession, and people trying to find out who she voted for in the 2024 election. Now though, the Left has, for the most part, stopped talking about it. Can’t say the same about Fox News.
The account “Decoding Fox News” on X, which aims to debunk propaganda pushed by the network, cut a video down from Jesse Watters Primetime where he sent his assistant Johnny to Union Square Park. There, Johnny’s mission was to talk to random people on the street about the Sydney Sweeney ad and one man in particular really nailed the vibe of the entire situation.
Decoding Fox News cut out the other people to highlight this man who, took the question, answered it honestly, and then went on to just go in on Watters and his assistant the rest of the time.
Sweeney herself has been quit on the issue. She went to the premiere of her movie Americana and that was the last fans heard of her. Whether she’ll address the situation or not is unknown but Fox News getting mileage out of this isn’t surprising. A big Hollywood star who is maybe one of their lackies? They love it.
What I love is that Fox News things they can have a gotcha moment with New Yorkers. We’re not going to be the kind of people who care about what Fox News things. Hence why this man said his thoughts on the ad and then turned his ire to the ghouls at the network. Nothing but respect for that guy and his willingness to just go in on Watters and assistant.
